The BPA’s dedication to supporting the needs and the safety of the band students will always take precedence over any other agendas. Therefore, the BPA will err on the side of caution as it pertains to our practices and procedures associated with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Per current ordinances and safety precautions as outlined by the CDC, Jackson County, City of Grain Valley, and the Grain Valley School District, the BPA will operate as follows: We will not be screening volunteers; however, we do ask that volunteers consider the following before signing up and/or showing up for a volunteer shift:
Do you have or have you had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 72 hours?
Do you have or have you had any symptoms which have been related to COVID-19?
Have you been in direct contact with someone, or caring for someone, with a fever of 100.4 or who have exhibited symptoms which have been related to COVID-19?
ALL VOLUNTEERS will be asked to Check-In, sign a Volunteer Waiver, and Check-Out at our NEW Volunteer Tent (look for the blue pop-up tent with Volunteer Check-In banner) set-up near the Band Barn. Volunteers will receive their assignments at this time: where to go, who to connect with, etc. This new procedure is not only for the protection of the BPA, but also to improve upon on volunteer experience, identify where holes may be in our volunteer coverage, ensure all volunteers are made aware of any current COVID related PPE requirements, and track volunteer hours. HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEERS will be required to adhere to the following parameters around food service: Hospitality volunteers will always, while handling food or product that will come into contact with students, staff, or volunteers, wear food service gloves. This includes, but is not limited to while preparing food, serving food, handing out bottled water, collecting food or supply donations, packing snack bags, loading coolers with water, setting tables, and any other food services duties. Hospitality volunteers will always, while handling open and/or fresh food products, wear a one-time use disposable face mask. This includes but is not limited to: while preparing any food items that is not pre-packaged, while serving any food or beverage item, while serving any food and beverage item, and during set-up and clean-up times. One time use disposable gloves and masks will be provided by the BPA. Do not use your own during your hospitality volunteer activities.
Multiple surface contact will be minimized by assigning one person per task while serving. NO self-serve options will be available at this time. All tables and serving surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to and during service. Every table, table covering, and serving surface will be properly cleaned and sanitized after use, or properly disposed. While masks are mandated by Jackson County, all volunteers will be required to wear a mask. No exceptions. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a mask, please do not sign up for a volunteer shift. All above policies are subject to change. As ordinances and safety precautions change, per the CDC, Jackson County, City of Grain Valley, and the Grain Valley School District, the BPA will adjust its policies accordingly. If you are not able to fulfill your shift, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the COVID-19 Policy, please contact [email protected].
